“Whole Indian Society is Corrupt, but Not Only Govt.” let me tell you why..
Do you think just by passing an anti-corruption law will fix the corruption in the Indian society overnight ? Do you think politicians, judiciary and Govt officers are only causing corruption in India ? And by just putting them under the scanner of the Lokpal bill will make them honest ?
What will happen to the corruption in Indian media, large corporations and NGOs ? Who is going to look after them ? This law is going to create more bureaucracy in India than freedom.
Indian society is based on the social corruption and here are few examples.
- Indians put the Katia [unofficial hook-ups] on the electricity polls and want to get free electricity. Later at the power cut they say, “Sala Electricity Department is corrupt.” Common Indians are stealing more than 5 Billion Dollars of electricity each year.
- Indians watch Pirated Movie DVDs and download millions of songs from illegal websites for free. This costs India billions of dollar every year. India is also well known for making illegal Pre-DVDs for Hollywood and Bollywood Movies.
- Young Indians ride a bike without license and when police constable catches them, they ask, “Sir ji, chai pani le lo na..”. Later they say, “Sala Police Man is Corrupt”.
- Indians buy a general class train ticket and travel in the sleeper class. And when TT catches them, instead of paying fine, they pay them bribe. Later they say, “Sala TT was corrupt.”
- Indians drive their cars on domestic gas cylinders and run water heaters on domestic gas cylinders but do not pay for commercial LPG gas. All Mithai Wallas [Sweet Makers] in India use domestic LPG cylinders and then they say ”Gas Wala is selling cylinders in Black.”
- Indians buy house of 50 lakhs and show the price of house 25 lakhs at the Govt Registry Office to save Stamps charges. Then they pay the registrar or officers a bribe for easy registration because Govt valuation of the property is more. Later they say, “Sala every one is corrupt in registry office”.
- Indians want to travel abroad would like to have their passport with in days, ahead of the queue. Then they bribe the passport verification officer to go ahead of the line and file the verification report early. Later they say, “Sala verification officer was corrupt.”
- Indians went to Ration Card Registration (without Identification documents) and pay bribe to get the Ration Card done. Later they say, “Sala Govt officer was corrupt.”
- In India to get Govt job, generally candidate needs a medical certificate from Govt Hospital. Indians do not want to go for the full examination, because if anything negative comes from the report then they might lose the Govt job. So they pay for it and get the fake medical report. Later they say, “Sala medical officer is corrupt in Govt hospitals”.
- Indians build the unauthorized constructions in front of their houses or shops, like a garden, or small pavement, or a generator room, or build extra 10 inch of the wall on Govt road, or a full room, or a house, or sometime full colonies. But when the Developmental Authorities comes, we Indians bribe them. Later they say, “Developmental Authorities are corrupt”.
- In Delhi, If you want admission of your kid in a good primary school, then, either you pay hefty donation or look for a person who have contacts with in the school. Later they say, “School administration is corrupt”. Why don’t they go and get admission in Govt school? [I studied in Govt school, they are not bad]
- Indians got married but do not go for the registration at the registrar office. When sometime later in the life they need marriage certificate they had to bribe to get the marriage certificate without having prior marriage registration.
- Indian don’t want to take the full driving test and would like to receive their Driving License at home without doing anything.
I can go ahead and note down more points for widespread corruption in Indian society, but we all know this.
Lokpal may take control over the politicians, Govt and judiciary. But It can not fix the Indian society.
This fasting movement in Delhi is giving too much importance to the Individuals, Politicians and the Bill, but no one is thinking about fixing the problem of the society.

True Yogis should renounce worldly pleasures, give food and shelters to poors, but not like Baba Ramdev, who flies in private jets to start anti-corruption campaign.
Anna Hajare might have true intentions to cure corruption in India but having ally like Baba only hurts his campaign.

Why you always blame Aam Admi instead of them who are taking bribe? If they stop taking that then people will be aware of themselves.
Because Aam Admi need to change,
Remember what Gandhi said .. “Be the change you want to see in the world”. But not like Anna, where force the change on someone..
Change will not be effective until and unless the individual felt themselves what he is doing wrong and take responsibilities..
We have a habit of blaming others. That needs to be change.
Aam Aadmi need to start taking responsibilities.

see by the way of aam aadami you will realize the fact…..jai hind..
You are half wright & half wrong. 10% of rich indians are habituated to give bribes to save their time, becuase they are earning more by malafide ways so they think or their economics says bvetter to give bribe & get work done the time saved they can make triple of the birbe they have given. but 50% of indians are helpless they give bribe to re-surect their carriers and few have no option but to bribe because otherwise their childrens will suffer from good future. But I am sure after Janlokpal bill as you have admitted Politicians,Police, lower lever public functioneries will be scared to ask bribe & it will help this 50% of indian population and I am confident even rich class will also follow in future there is a hope that tomorrow India will be better country so why should we not give a try for betterment dont be negative always try to take out possitives from negatives, that is real life my friend. I give you one example Mr Rahul Gandhi till his this age might have not paid a single ruppee as bribe because he is son of Mr.Rajiv Gandhi but Mr.Rajiv Gandhi might have paid bribe for his son betterment & high eduction it is not only money is paid sometimes the bribe given gives in gratitude or other way you do my work I will do your work and this happens lot in Politics.Mr Rahul Gandhi is Amul Boy,immatured, not married,no childrens how he will experience the corruption of Aam Admi. I am 66yrs age & have full expereince why I had to give bribe angainst my concious due to my childrens future I was push to wall I was helpless my daughter admission in Convent school required Birth certificate and to get that bloody birth certificate from MCH I had to give bribe. There are plenty of reasons of 50% of Indian population. So your Headline India is not Anna Don’t be fooled is wrong & irrelevant to me.My advise to you is correct yourself and join India Against Corruption atleast for 50% of Indian population and I am sure you being a rich person will also realize aftersome time that you were wrong in your understanding Anna Hazareji movement & his Janlokpal bill.I also advice to take sycatric help for your philosophy it will help you the understand things better in your life. God Bless you with good understanding of life.
Dear Mr. Bohra,
Do you think its the school’s fault that you did not make/get a birth certificate when your daughter was born?
I am sure not.
And this is my point, we Indians need to change our habits.
yes school fault, organization, rules, the way to follow corruption,be honest and see around every field, news paper ,department,is a source …………….
I’m a student studying B.com Industry Integrated.
We Indians first should change our habits. It was us who got the concept of bribe into existence. So we should only try and eradicate it. We started bribing the policemen when we forget our license. I totally agree with you. When you get money without earning it, who would not enjoy it. Its because of us that almost everybody is corrupt. Not only the government, even a street vendor is corrupt. Well I truly believe in Gandhiji’s words, “there is enough for every ones need; but not for every ones greed”.
how you face bribe or corruption till today…
please do not consider minor corruption of society to safeguard clandenstine loot. please overlook silly things and be tough on things which effects our society severely.
Corruption can only be eradicated with the intrinsic motivation to do so. Like Japanese, Indians need to learn about self dignity.
Wearing a Gandhi Topi and holding Indian flag at the Ram Lila Maidan won’t make us honest. People are doing this since independence but we are still corrupt.
Amit
think honestly, corruption never stop, like crime ,but effort are being taken to reduce by law or educating people, besides escape and excuses from act and law?????,jai ho …lai jai ho ………is my country first page of text book……
